Helpful Information

CHIPPING DROP OFF AREA:

The chipping drop off area is open for business. Any resident having tree branches up to 9" in diameter that need to be disposed of can bring them to the Borough Garage drop off area at South Third Street between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No sticker bushes, shrubs, or shrub clippings are accepted.

There is a supply of wood chip mulch available for residents. You can load the chips yourself anytime the site is open. There is no fee for this service.

STREET SWEEPING -

The street sweeping schedule runs from April 1 until October 31.  Check the sign at the beginning of your block for parking regulations.

RECYCLING -

The Borough of Palmerton currently recycles glass (clear, green & brown), plastic (#1 & #2), aluminum and steel cans,  newspapers and magazines. Magazines should be separate from newspaper and both should be tied and bundled.

REFUSE COLLECTION:

Please remember Ordinance 549 regulating the placement of garbage for collection, as follows: "No acceptable waste shall be placed or allowed to be placed or shall remain in containers on or along any public street, alley, sidewalk, or curb or between the sidewalk and curb prior to 24 hours before the specified day of collection. Empty containers shall be removed no later than 6:00 pm the day following collection." Violators will be cited.
