| CHIPPING
DROP OFF AREA:
The chipping drop off area is open for
business. Any resident having tree branches up to 9" in diameter
that need to be disposed of can bring them to the Borough Garage
drop off area at South Third Street between the hours of 7:00 a.m.
and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No sticker bushes, shrubs, or
shrub clippings are accepted.
There is a supply of wood chip mulch available for
residents. You can load the chips yourself anytime the site is open.
There is no fee for this service.
STREET SWEEPING -
The street sweeping schedule runs from April 1
until October 31. Check the sign at the beginning of your
block for parking regulations.
RECYCLING -
The Borough of Palmerton currently recycles glass
(clear, green & brown), plastic (#1 & #2), aluminum and
steel cans, newspapers and magazines. Magazines should be
separate from newspaper and both should be tied and bundled.
REFUSE COLLECTION:
Please remember Ordinance 549 regulating the
placement of garbage for collection, as follows: "No acceptable
waste shall be placed or allowed to be placed or shall remain in
containers on or along any public street, alley, sidewalk, or curb
or between the sidewalk and curb prior to 24 hours before the
specified day of collection. Empty containers shall be removed no
later than 6:00 pm the day following collection." Violators will be
cited.

LEAF PICKUP AND COLLECTION SCHEDULE
Please call the Borough Office to find out when
leaf collection starts. Palmerton Borough Council has adopted
the following leaf collection plan:
Mondays
Residence Park and areas north of Columbia Avenue and east of Third
Street
Tuesdays north side of Lehigh Avenue
and north side of Franklin Avenue
Wednesdays
south side of Lafayette and Columbia Avenues, south side of 100 and
200 blocks of Princeton Avenue, south side of 100 and 200
blocks of Edgemont Avenue, south side of 100 and 200 blocks of
Harvard Avenue
Thursdays north side of
Lafayette and Columbia Avenues, north side of 100 and 200 blocks of
Princeton Avenue, north side of 100 and 200 blocks of Edgemont
Avenue, north side of 100 and 200 blocks of Harvard Avenue
Fridays Avenue A, Avenue B, Delaware
Avenue, south side of Lehigh and Franklin Avenues
Residents
should remember not to rake the leaves into the street. They should
be placed along the curb so that they do not scatter before they are
picked up. Alleys will be picked up with the same street schedule.
It is not necessary to bag leaves, but please have your car removed
so that leaves are accessible for the pick up machine.
