<p>Dear Dog Park Goers,</p>



<p>We ask that you exercise caution when visiting the dog park. If your dog is under the weather, please keep them home.</p>



<p>Please help keep our four-legged friends happy and healthy.</p>



<p>Poop bags are provided as a courtesy, but there is no guarantee they will be stocked.</p>



<p>Please come prepared with your own poop bags and ensure to clean up after your dog.</p>



<p>Dog Park Rules:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>Users of this facility do so at their own risk. Palmerton Borough is not responsible for any injury or illness. Dog behavior can be unpredictable around other dogs and strangers.&nbsp; Do not pet or approach dogs of others without the handler’s permission. Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior or excessive barking may be removed from the park.</li>



<li>Dog handlers are responsible for their own water and bowls in the dog park.</li>



<li>Dog park is open from dawn to dusk.</li>



<li>Dogs must be vaccinated and licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the license clearly visible at all times. Collars must be worn by all dogs in the park.</li>



<li>Sick dogs and dogs in heat not permitted in the park.</li>



<li>Dog park gates must remain closed at all times except for entering and exiting the park.</li>



<li>Dog owners and handlers are liable for any damage or injury caused by their dogs.</li>



<li>Dog handlers must be at least 16 years of age and responsible to clean up after their dog and place waste in the trash cans.</li>



<li>Each person may bring up to two (2) dogs into the park at one time.</li>



<li>Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the park.</li>



<li>Dogs must be a minimum of six (6) months to enter the park.</li>



<li>Dog handlers must remain with their dogs in the fenced area. No dogs are allowed to be unaccompanied in the dog park.</li>



<li>No human food or alcoholic beverages are allowed in the dog park.</li>



<li>Strollers, bicycles, and children’s toys are not permitted in the dog park.</li>



<li>Dog handlers shall deter dogs from digging holes in the dog park and must repair any damages caused by their dogs digging holes.</li>



<li>Parental supervision is required for children under 16 years of age in the dog park.</li>



<li>Use the appropriate park based on the size of the dog. Dogs under 25 pounds normally use the small dog area.</li>



<li>The use of the dog park for private events such as training, instruction or parties is prohibited without authorization from the Palmerton Borough.</li>

<p>Welcome to the new trash and recycling service for Palmerton Borough! We’re excited to begin servicing in the New Year!</p>



<p>Whitetail Disposal will be closed Wednesday, January 1st in observance of the holiday.</p>



<p>The first trash collection will take place on Monday, January 6th and every Monday thereafter.</p>



<p>The first recycling collection will take place Monday, January 13th and every other Monday thereafter.</p>



<p>Whitetail Disposal is proud to partner with Palmerton Borough to provide weekly trash and bi-weekly recycling service to it’s residents.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Up to five (5) thirty-five (35) gallon bags not to exceed forty (40) pounds per container.</strong></li>



<li><strong>Please make sure to have your waste curbside Sunday night for collection on Monday.</strong></li>
</ul>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>We cannot take:</strong></h4>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Hazardous waste</strong>&nbsp;including radioactive, reactive, toxic, ignitable, corrosive, or acidic items.</li>



<li><strong>E-waste</strong>&nbsp;including televisions, computers, etc.</li>



<li><strong>C &amp; D&nbsp;</strong>including materials resulting from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition operations.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bulk Waste</h2>



<p>Each residential property shall be entitled to place one item of bulk waste at the curb each week.</p>



<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Large items of refuse including, furniture, carpet, mattresses, and appliances normally generated at a residential property.</h5>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>This does not include construction debris: waste building materials resulting from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition operations.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mattresses and Toilets</h3>



<h5 class="wp-block-heading">For our employees’ safety:</h5>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic.</li>



<li>Toilets must be bagged.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>REFUSE COLLECTION</strong>: Please remember Ordinance 549 regulating the placement of garbage for collection, as follows: “No acceptable waste shall be placed or allowed to be placed or shall remain in containers on or along any public street, alley, sidewalk, or curb or between the sidewalk and curb prior to 24 hours before the specified day of collection.&nbsp; Empty containers shall be removed no later than 6:00 pm the day following collection.”&nbsp; Violators will be cited.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Recycling Services</h2>



<p>Recyclables must be clean and dry.</p>



<p><strong>D</strong><strong>o not bag recyclables.</strong></p>



<p>If your recycling is contaminated it will be handled as trash.</p>
